O’s Notes: Bandleader, educator and composer Jim Waller leads a fine large ensemble for Bucket List, a contemporary collection of 14 tunes that sizzle and satisfy! Vocalist Jacqueline Sotelo delivers a stunning rendition of “Georgia on my mind” and shines again on “Why Don’t You Do Right”. The strings paint a lush backdrop for “Rhapsody In Blue”. There are also nice drum solos by Will Kennedy on “Samba For Suzell” and “Funksuite 109”. Waller (t-sax) is in control on “A Ballad For Bob”. There’s even a taste of country with twangy guitar from Jason Valdez on Honkytonk”.
