O’s Notes: Bassist Leon Lee Dorsey is a first call musician who assembles a fine trio with guitarist Russell Malone and drummer Mike Clark. Together they reimagine nine classics centered around Malone’s chord melodies. They open with a gutsy arrangement of the title track to set the stage for a strong, blues-based session. They jam on “Bumpin’ On Sunset” and show poise on “The Very Thought of You”. We also enjoyed “Thieves In The Temple” and “Sister Sadie”.
