O’s Notes: The legendary drummer continues to release CDs at 87 years old! This is a live session performed at Artpark Jazz Festival in New York on September 3, 1994. It is a trio format with Chico, bassist Matthew Garrison and featuring guitarist Gary DeNigris who has since been with Chico’s working band. The genre is fusion and while Gary is spotlighted, Chico makes a strong statement notably with his solo on “Sculpture”, our favorite track of the set along with the finale, “C&C”.
