O’s Notes: The trio is bassist Larry Grenadier, drummer Jeff Ballad and leader Mehldau on piano. They perform nine tunes including two originals but mostly rearrangements of pop and jazz standards. The best of the lot are Brad’s own “Artis” and the instrumental rendition of Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” both of which really swing.
