O’s Notes: Chris (g) takes us into his space with some poetic blues and fusion. They open with “Playback” a call and response type number that centers on some funky guitar work by Woitach. Chris in fact has a prominent role in each of the six songs that include spoken word by Greta Matassa and Stephanie Porter. Woitach based the project on the works of detective novelist Raymond Chandler. He adds to the mystery by incorporating various “superstitious” techniques to his compositions. Among the best is “Dames” with a subtle New Orleans beat and a series of one-liners about women.
