O’s Notes: Human Spirit is Thomas Marriott (t), Mark Taylor (sax) and Matt Jorgensen (d). They added special guests Orrin Evans (p) and Essie Essiet (b) for an appearance at the 2011 Earshot Jazz Festival in Seattle. The music is all original composed by Human Spirit (individually) but fueled by their guests, the energy level is high and contagious. We felt this vibe from the live recording in our listening chair, another positive jazz element form the northwest!
