O’s Notes: Glen plays guitar, harp and sitar. He brings a jovial contemporary flavor to a dozen new compositions. There is generous use of Latin percussion providing accents and character. “Room 231” and “River East” a Spanish feel while “Sweet Ears” is more world-jazz. The sitar gives songs like “The Whirl” an Indian bent. Glen does a nice job on “Latin A La Linda”, our favorite selection of the set. Debbie Duncan adds light vocals on “Southern Exposure”, a song that has the Caribbean festival feeling with the steel drums. There are a lot of different sounds here showing Helgeson’s versatility.
