O’s Notes: This session is structured free jazz that is within the grasp of a large audience and pleasurably so! The sounds are somewhat mysterious during the many facets of the journey of the title track. We first played the CD as background music but “Don’t Melt Away, Pt. 2” captured our full attention. The interaction between drums, brass and strings on “Railier” is excellent giving this tune a bouncing rhythm, an example of strong interplay over the entire CD. Once we engaged we listened and enjoyed the music in detail.
