O’s Notes: The latest release from saxophonist, Rich Halley’s is Dusk and Dawn, with Michael Vlatkovich (tb), Clyde Reed (b) and Carson Halley (d). The seven songs here take time to develop but be patient as there are rewarding improvisations that stand out! We liked “After Dawn” with Vlatkovich’s lead lines, and the funky, mixed tempo “Spatter”.
