O’s Notes: Melody has an easy-going vocal style that works well with her backing music. It feels good. Tilden Webb leads the ‘throwback’ sound on his Fender Rhodes. Doug Stephenson (b) Dan Gaucher (d) and Cory Weeds (sax) are the rest of the musicians. “High & Dry” has more of a pop character but most of the tunes have a cool jazzy feel. We liked “Lothario”, “Spanish Joint” and “October” in a strong set. Diachun has that mellow Sade-type groove that will appeal to a broad audience.
