O’s Notes: Daggerboard features bassist Henry Franklin (The Skipper), Erik Jekabson (t, flugelhorn), Matt Clark (p), Gregory Howe (perc) and Mike Clark (d). Their latest release Escapement also includes a wealth of other artists. The foundation of this large ensemble is classical, but it is infused with syncopated jazz arrangements that transform the music into a cool, laid-back fusion. “Climbing In The Cocoon”, “The Balance Board”, “Concrete Dim”, and “Petracorinda” are highlights.
