O’s Notes: Drummer, Paul Motian and his band, Anders Christensen (b), Chris Cheek (sax), Pietro Tonolo (sax), Ben Monder (g) and Steve Cardenas (g), are a very creative crew. The sound of the saxophones and guitars is split into the left and right channels. They push the envelope with different ideas and approaches in harmony and rhythm. “Introspective” is our favorite, a fusion track. It is complimented by some free jazz, “Fiasco” and cool jazz like “If You Could See Me Now”.
