O’s Notes: Rudresh plays alto sax and leads a quartet through eleven original compositions, each with mild threads of his Indian origin. David Fiuczynski plays guitar with Franois Moutin on bass and drummer Dan Weiss. Moutin and Weiss lay down solid funky foundations for Rudresh and Fiuczynski to solo over. They take full creative liberty with large doses of layered syncopation. They approach the edge but never disappear form the listener’s grasp.
