O’s Notes: Williams is a poetic woman with a deep rich voice. She is surrounded by a strong team of musicians including James Genus (b) and Jimmy ‘Junebug’ Jackson (d). Lori sings with heartfelt emotion over twelve blues ballads. She wrote the lyrics to most of the music displaying her first rate songwriting ability. There are a lot of deep personal experiences here starting with “Healing Within” and moving through “How Can I Begin Again”, “Held Hostage” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me”. We also enjoyed the jazzy “Little Sunflower”, “Can’t Explain” and “Where’d It Go?” balancing the set.
