O’s Notes: Traditional Cuban music spilled into our studio from the opening beats of “Ein Kelokeinu”. We felt the urge to salsa on the title track and appreciated the native sounds in songs like “Dayenu”. This is new Latin Jewish music coming from Lapidus. The echoing bongos of “Limpieza Judia” helped bring life to the story. There are fourteen songs with Spanish lyrics that range from jovial to deeply sentimental. It was a challenging session to absorb.
