O’s Notes: Trumpeter Imer Santiago leads a core quintet and invites many guest artists to celebrate the production of Hidden Journey. All of the music is composed by Santiago except for three collaborations with producer Rahsaan Barber (sax, fl) and a couple of covers. Stephanie Adington adds warm vocals on “The Very Thought of You” and Santiago’s trumpet melodies are crisp throughout the set. Imer was educated in Ohio & New Orleans and now resides in Nashville and brings strong elements of jazz into the country music capital.
