O’s Notes: Indian jazz guitarist, educator Pritesh Walia forms a trio with bassist Chris Worden and drummer Gen Yoshimura. Walia is a graduate of Berklee and the New England Conservatory who currently resides in Los Angeles. Walia’s guitar playing stands out on his debut, Hopetown, notably on “Colors”, “Blackbird”, and “Finishing Up”. We also enjoyed “Low Talks” and “Brief”, strong evidence that he’ll be on the scene for a while.
