O’s Notes: Justin Rothberg is a complete musician: a composer, guitarist and bandleader. He plays many genres ad has performed alongside many musicians around the world and on Broadway. He leads The Justin Rothberg Group for their 3rd release and it is a good one. Saxophonist Todd Groves gets a little funky on the opening title track “Hurricane Mouse” that also includes a cool solo from bassist John Price. Justin’s funky guitar licks with punctuated beats by Hiroyuki Matsuura (d) and Andy O’Neill (perc) make this one sizzle. Highlights are “Hotel, Show, Repeat”, “Old Gift Card” and “Tom G”.
