O’s Notes: Lalo needs no introduction as a composer. He has written for many jazz greats as well as many popular movie scores. Here he extends his jazz orchestration series combining the WDR Big Band and WDR Radio Orchestra with a full jazz band. Success comes with big sound (Tokyo Blues) that is not congested (Naima) but containing numerous subtleties (Intersections) that are normally limited to classical orchestrations.
