O’s Notes: Trumpeter and vocalist Michael C. Lewis crafts a nice combination of R&B vocals and contemporary jazz on his“Intimate Journey. Highlights are “Reasons” featuring Walter Beasley on sax, and the “Reasons” muted trumpet remix. Lewis turns into a balladeer on “Make Me Say It Again Girl” and “Intimate Journey” warming up the ladies with a dose of soul. This is a retro, head-bobbing, good trip.
