O’s Notes: Cinzia is a jazz singer supported by a fine band including pianist Bruce Barth, George Garzone (sax) and drummer Yoron Israel. Her scathing is melodic with vocalizations that mimic an instrument. Barth shadows her nicely to make the effect dramatic on the opener “Questar”. There are some swinging standards but the best are the songs where she takes off as on “Carlos”, an original that sizzles. Spata is a new voice for us but she is a polished Italian wonder that begs your attention. We hope to see her doing more original work.
