O’s Notes: We liked Susie’s debut recording I’ll Remember April and much of the same characteristics are present on I’m Confessin’. Her voice is pure and melodic backed by a strong set of musicians. Again she chooses great material, tried and true classics by the masters with arrangements by pianist John Shaddy. There are fourteen tunes in all with four featuring guest trombonist Wycliffe Gordon. These are among the best selections in a session that is solid.
