O’s Notes: Jazz in Pink is an all-female smooth jazz band lead by composer, producer and keyboardist Gail Jhonson. They’ve been delighting smooth jazz audiences for over a decade in various configurations. Funky electronics, R&B, club beats and catchy hooks populate Joy! and the opening title track says all of that with guest Kim Waters (sax). Another label mate, Marion Meadows adds warm sax with a well-defined bass line from Josh Scott to make “All That Jazz” pop. It’s all about the keys on “Positivity”. Then guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr. joins Gail for the ballad “Come For Me”. All of the songs are original with that throwback groove that won’t quit!
