O’s Notes: Pianist Benjamin Lackner leads a quartet with Mathias Eick (t), Jérome Regard (b) and Manu Katché (d). They perform nine of Lackner’s originals on Last Decade. The music is rich with beautiful tones and sound quality that allows listeners to engage pleasurably. Eick does a fine job leading melodies with passion vs. pyrotechnics notably on “Circular Confidence” and “Camino Cielo” leading to a relaxing session.
