O’s Notes: Lighthouse is a duet featuring pianist/arranger Vardan Ovsepian and vocalist Tatiana Parra. Tatiana is more a master of voice than a modern jazz lyricist. She sings vocalese that soothes the senses and is truly a human instrument. Parra melds her voice with Ovsepian’s masterful work on the keys. “Sonho espresso” is a fleeting work of call and response and one of many jovial expressions in the set. These are two masterful musicians who together are pure bliss! Their music creates the moods: daring, suspense and adventure for a solid session.
