O’s Notes: Sammy Sherman was captured live on various dates at Chan’s in Woonsocket, RI between 1994 and 1998. He plays with some of the best in the business including his daughter and pianist Daryl, guitarist Howard Alden, Frank Tate (b) and Warren Vaché (cornet). And yes Sammy was still as good as ever in this Autumnal Statement. Check out the warm melodic tones from his trombone on “Solitude”! This is good spirited light swinging music.
