O’s Notes: Jean Paul “Bluey” Maunick leads this legendary band. They are celebrating 30 years of creating top contemporary jazz and R&B hits! They open with Vanessa Haynes singing “Talin’ Loud” followed by Joy Rose who rocked our world with a soulful rendition of “Step Aside”. Tony Montolle took us into mellow space and we settled in for a lengthy evening of bliss. The brass is sharp and the live string section adds romance and animation! Maysa took the stage for two jazzy numbers followed by Jocelyn Brown for two then returned for the ever funky “Colibri”. Then Imani joined them returning from child leave. Maysa was back for many of the hits she sang with them as were the rest of the band. They went through twenty-three selections wrapping with “Nights Over Egypt” leaving us fully satisfied.
