O’s Notes: London Brew is a large ensemble including Benji B (decks, mixing), Raven Bush (violin, electronics), and Shabaka Hutchins (sax, woodwinds). They play music inspired by Miles Davis in his acid-fusion mode. It is a funky, free jazz amalgamation that most closely resembles progressive rock. The groove is contemporary, eclectic, and right on point for those who favor progressive rock. Highlights include “Trainlines”, “Miles Chases New Voodoo In The Church”, “the mesmerizing “Nu Sha Ni Sha Nu Oss Ra”, “Mor Ning Prayers”, and the title track.
