O’s Notes: Pianist and vocalist Betty Bryant is 94 years old and dare I say she’s still in her prime! Lotta Livin’ is a collection of experiences that are enjoyable and entertaining. There are great stories in these blues-based ballads, for example, “Chicken Wings”, with Robert Kyle on harmonica, and “Stormy Monday”. Betty romances us on “Baby, Baby all The Time”, bassist Richard Simon opens the swinging “Blues to Get Started”, an instrumental. I hope I am as relevant at 94!
