O’s Notes: Sweet France (Douce France) is a combination of gentle cafe tunes illustrated by Sergent on her harp and with pleasant vocals. Patrick Brennen (g) and Alec Safy (b) are her primary accompaniment. Lyrics are in English and French with more character arising from the latter on tunes like the swinging title track featuring clarinetist Linus Wyrsch. We also enjoyed the happy go-lucky bounce of “The Apartment Next Door” and “La Bohème” featuring Vitor Goncalves (accordion). This is a delightful session.
