O’s Notes: Pianist Charlie Peacock leads a contemporary jazz ensemble performing nine original compositions. They open with “When Diana Dances” which set the tone, sort of a mid tempo hip party groove. The songs are performed by two groups, one recorded at Avatar in New York and the other at the Art House in Bellevue, TN. Several musicians, Ralph Alessi (t), Jeff Coffin (sax) and Tony Maricle (synths) play both sets. Among the best tunes are “Be Well Johnny Cash” with Kirk Rosenwinkle (g) making a guest appearance, “Bucket A Chicken” and “All Or Nothin Grace” with Ravi Coltrane on sax.
