O’s Notes: Bassist, composer Robert Miller leads Project Grand Slam, a jazz-fusion quintet. Miller wrote all of the music including two vocals by Kat Robichaud notably “New York City Groove”. Two highlights of the nine selections were recorded live at the Blue Note making the set true to the title Made In New York. “Cakewalk For Debra” is a longtime favorite written for his girlfriend, now his wife! We also enjoyed “Boston Common” and “Around The Horn”. Look for these guys live in Manhattan for an energizing evening.
