O’s Notes: Jeff is back on the scene with nine new fusion tunes. Kofi Burbridge (keyboards, fl), Roy “Futureman” Wooten (d) and Felix Pastorius (b) join Jeff on sax & flute to form the core of the band. They open with the heavily syncopated, funky “Tag”. “One In, One Out” has a funky, soul groove as Kofi switches to the B3 and Roy Agee adds trombone. We liked the cool breezes of “Turiya”, “L’Esperance” and the New Orleans party theme of “Move Your Rug” with a full brass section.
