O’s Notes: Cabaret singer Dawn Derow sings the music from her 2017 show My Ship Songs From 1941. It is a collection of 14 timeless classics including “Lover Man”, “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, “Just Squeeze Me” and “At Last”. Primary accompaniment is her trio, pianist Ian Herman, bassist Tom Hubbard and Daniel Glass on drums. We enjoyed the YouTube “Making of” video and suspect that we’d enjoy her cabaret show even more, a fine tribute to the musicians of the World War II era.
