O’s Notes: This is the first new release from Kenny G in six years! New Standards is a series of warm ballads, not the gimmickry smooth jazz, but more of a sophisticated pallet. These are original tunes drawing inspiration from legendary romantic jazz ballads 60 years past, all done with Kenny’s fingerprints. Kenny’s sax is backed by a lush string section and a peaceful rhythm section. Of note are “Two Of A Kind”, “Paris By Night”, “Milestones” and “Rendezvous”.
