O’s Notes: Jeff Holmes plays piano, trumpet, arranged and composed most of the nine selections for Of One’s Own. He also leads the quartet with Adam Kolker (sax, cl), James Cammack (b) and Steve Dohns (d). This team is at ease with each other, not racing to demonstrate prowess, just putting the right notes in the right spots as on their rendition of “Poinciana”. We also enjoyed “Rose On Driftwood”, “One For CJ” and the swinging “So Long Farewell” in a good mix of tempos.
