O’s Notes: Deanna marries her soft, warm vocals with strong instrumentation. She keeps things fresh alternating between romantic ballads and bouncy standards. Her core rhythm section: R. Martin Melinger (p), Steve Varner (b) and Eric Johnson (d) is showcased on “I’m an Errand Girl For Rhythm”. Paul Colombo adds rich guitar fills on several tracks notably “Secret ‘O Life”. Bob Meashey shadows Reuben on “When I Fall in Love” and Larry McKenna (sax) steps in on “You Can’t Rush Spring”. Other highlights are “Time After Time” and “Perfect” with Todd Sullivan (viola).
