O’s Notes: On an album dedicated to the legendary bop pioneer, Charlie Parker, Stefano lights it up! He opens with a blistering pace on “Salt Peanuts” and he is up to the task. The band is Stefano, Kenny Barron (p), Rosaio Bonaccoso (b), Herlin Riley (d) and Flavio Boltro (t). They play ten classics including “Donna Lee”, “Congo Blues” and a warm version of “Round Midnight”. It is a hot session.
