O’s Notes: Per Sempre was recorded in Italy during a Winter 2009 tour. Veteran bassist Eddie Gomez leads a quintet with Marco Pignataro (sax), Matt Marvuglio (fl), Teo Clavarella (p) and Massimo Manzi (d). The unit was clicking and this comes through in the music, a laid back, mellow set of jazz ballads. Gomez wrote three songs, Pignataro wrote two while Marvuglio and Clavarella each contribute one selection two go with a cover of “Stella By Starlight”.
