O’s Notes: There is a lot of swinging music emanating from France these days. Here’s an example! The lower registers are handled by twin brothers, Franois (b) and Louis (d) Moutin. Baptiste Trotignon (p) and Sylvain Beuf (sax) join them to form the quartet. They play nine mostly original neobop/fusion songs with a touch of funk. There are heavily syncopated beats with enough open space to allow the twins to display their talents. It’s got a nice fresh groove.
