O’s Notes: This is the debut recording for Cincinnati-based guitarist and composer Brad Myers. Local jazz fans already know Brad as a neobop/fusion artist. His music is rich, and mellow with a fine band that includes vibraphonist Chris Barrick , Ben Walkenhauser on sax, bassist Peter Gemus and Tom Buckley on drums. Most of the tunes are original and the covers are fresh and well integrated into the program. This set is easy to embrace and show Myers’ potential.
