O’s Notes: Project 88“is a collection of romantic blues featuring vocalist, pianist Betty Bryant who turned 88 in 2017 when this album was conceived. The program captures ten of Betty’s favorite tunes with many of her favorite musicians including bassist Tom Gargano, drummer Kenny Elliott, trumpeter Tony Guerrero and producer Robert Kyle (t-sax, fl). It’s primarily Betty’s show and she delivers convincing lyrics throughout the set. Highlights are “Catfish Man”, “Ain’t Nobody’s Business” and “It’s Hard To Say Goodbye”. The Kansas City native now resides in Southern California and you should not pass up a chance to hear her live!
