O’s Notes: Alto saxophonist Pete Tobbins teams up with pianist Vijay Iyer, bassist Eivend Opsvik and Tyshawn Sorey on drums for Pyramid. It is a collection of nine soft fusion tunes. We enjoyed their take of “Wichita Lineman” and the gentle flow of “Equipoise”. Iyer does a fine job on both selections with Robbins layering the melodies on top. It is a good set.
