O’s Notes: The beauty of this music is the seamless harmony and rhythm that is primarily spoken, chanted or sung. The marriage of South African traditional music with Gospel music has created a palate that has broad global appeal. “Uqinisil’ Ubada” (Lord Is The Light And Truth) is an excellent example. The band has been performing since 1960 in South Africa and globally since the 1980s. Their voices have been heard on many movie soundtracks and they still perform with vibrancy. This is inspirational music.
