O’s Notes: Times 4 is a quartet with Greg Sankovich (keys), Kevin Loftin (b), Lincoln Adler (sax) and Maurice Miles (d). Their music is all new, original funky fusion that has lots of snap. Kevin and Maurice hold together the bottom with deep pulsating beats. Lincoln provides warm sax melodies and Greg provides the glue. The songs have a crisp groove that is easy to warm up to. They also mellow out with “Full Moon”, a ballad. We liked “Cell Phone”, “Thickness” and “Central Park” in a strong set. These guys play together seamlessly and have a better groove than some other more popular contemporary jazz quartets!
