O’s Notes: LA-Based guitarist Doug MacDonald serves up a fresh set on Serenade To Highland Park. He’s in a trio with bassist Mike Flick and Paul Kreibich on drums. Both Mike and Paul step in from time to time with solid solos complimenting MacDonald. It’s a good mix of originals and standards, certainly a fine display of jazz guitar! Highlights are “Manha De Carnaval”, “Frenesi” , “Hortense” and “You Stepped Out Of A Dream”.
