O’s Notes: Ronny takes us through nine funky R&B songs leading with his guitar. There are mostly originals but also a few rearranged classics like “Josey”. “She’s So special” is a cooler ballad midway through this energized session. It’s a great pivot point in this well-balanced set. Smith can cook and he’ll be around for a while.
