O’s Notes: Vocalist Kimberly Ford has a passion for singing as well as for the sea. This recording touches both. Ford teams up with her swinging trio: Mark Waggoner (g), Ryan McGillicuddy (b) and Jason Harnell (d) to sing a dozen ocean inspired tracks. Her voice is pleasant and the band is tight. We liked the blues vibe of “Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea”, the samba of “Little Boat” performed in 7/4, and “Island” best. She doesn’t stop there. A bonus DVD includes an underwater music video pairing one of Ford’s three originals, “Water Mark” with some stunning footage from Mike DeGruy.
