O’s Notes: Emy Tseng is a Taiwanese-born vocalist with a penchant for Brazilian jazz. She opens with a vocalese take on “Aquelas Coisas Todas”, the first of many covers of Bossa Nova classics. Who could argue with Jobim’s “Brigas Nunca Mais”? There are also a few pop tunes like “Close Your Eyes” and ” I Thought About You” sprinkled in Tseng’s recording debut. The DC native has a Masters in Math/Physics from MIT to complement her musical talents; that’s diversity!
