O’s Notes: The American Dream is a series of poems written by the late Robert Greeley set to music by pianist Frank Carlberg. The work is mostly cooking bebop with Chris cheek (sax), John Hebert (b) and Michael Sarin (d). Christine Correa breathes life into the tunes with voicings of the poetry. The pace varies from racy to peaceful as Carlberg does a fine job matching pace to the mood of the lyrics. Among the best is the title track and “Loop” featuring an opening solo by Hebert.
